Imagine having a Certified Wound Physician come to see you or your loved one at home, and not having to arrange transportation to your wound physician's office or the Wound Care Center every week or two. We will come evaluate and treat your wound on a regular basis and take time to explain the healing progress and answer all your questions and concerns, in the comfort of your home.

This is a much needed service for the elderly and homebound patient. It eliminates the transportation cost and inconvenience of waiting in a busy physician's office.

Once a patient is referred to our Wound Care program, they will be seen by Dr. Leger for an initial assessment within 48 hours. During that first visit, we will develop and implement a treatment plan. We believe that one of the most important aspects of wound healing is to work as a collaborative team. The team may involve the patient's primary care physician, nurse, and the patient's family and caregivers. We work very closely with Home Health Agencies.

My "Office"

We consult on all types of wounds, including:

• Pressure Ulcers (Bedsores)
• Diabetic Foot Ulcers
• Venous Stasis Ulcers
• Ischemic (arterial) Ulcers
• Skin Tears
• Atypical Ulcers (Vasculitis, Skin Cancer)
• Surgical Wounds
• Burns

After being discharged from the Hospital or a Nursing Home with non healed wounds, we will work in concert with your Home Health Agency to help to heal the wounds in a timely fashion.

You will always be seen by Dr. Leger at every visit. Follow-ups will not be delegated to Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners.

We provide up-to-date evidence-based wound care treatment and procedures. We will document our visits with the best wound management software available, WoundExpert. We are thus able to generate wound healing reports and progress reports to send to your regular physician.

We are also able to perform a vascular doppler study to evaluate a patient's lower extremity circulation. And this information is incorporated digitally in the medical record. If necessary, photographs may also be used, with permission of the patient, to document the wound's progress in time.
